PURPOSE:To improve the adhesiveness of clad layers to a base metal and cladding metals by providing preliminary treatment devices for accelerating joining which weld wires to both ends on the broad side of the cladding metals to be joined to a molten metal for the base metal to means for supplying the cladding metals. CONSTITUTION:Metallic strips 6, 6' to be used for the cladding metals are forcibly deprived of heat by coolers 3, 3' behind rotating bodies 1, 1' in traveling paths 2, 2' of said bodies and adhere to the molten metal 8 flowing down from an immersion nozzle 9 at the boundary therefrom. The solidified shells 8' thereof are allowed to grow and thicken and are then drawn as the metal-clad material 11 by means of pinch rollers 10, 10'. The preliminary treatment devices 12, 12' for accelerating joining consisting of devices for supplying and welding the wires are provided in the mid-way to the casting point from means for supplying the cladding metals. The adhesion between the molten metal 8 which is the base metal and the metallic strips 6, 6' is accelerated and the cladding is thoroughly completed. |
