PURPOSE:To improve pipe characteristics by disposing an outside aluminum pipe and an inside steel pipe closely and integrating them by application of an internal pressure or adhesion. CONSTITUTION:The steel pipe 2 is inserted into the aluminum pipe 1 with a minimum clearance between both pipes. An internal pressure is applied to the pipe 2 to expand it through a suitable device and instrument, or the pipes 1 and 2 adhere to each other by filling the clearance with a strong adhesive. The method integrates the pipe 1 with the pipe 2 to obtain an aluminum-steel united pipe. The united pipe is increased in strength and wear resistance by using the steel pipe 2 and is reduced its weight by using the aluminum pipe 1. Therefore, the method improves pipe characteristics.
