The invention is a method of pretreating piezoelectric crystals that are to be used for measuring the corrosivity of fluids. The pretreatment consists of sulphide activation of the substrate that is subjected to corrosion and is situated on the piezoelectric crystal. This makes the crystal more sensitive during the subsequent corrosivity measurement.
