PROCESS OF PRODUCING UV-STABILIZED POLYESTER MATERIALS

The prodn. of UV-stabilized polyesters comprises(a) heating polyester granules to 150 - 180≦̸C; (b) mixing a powdered UV stabilizer with the heated granules so that the stabilizer becomes attached to the granules; (c) drying the powder carrying granules to a moisture content of not more than 0.005 wt.%; and (d) forming the dried granules into film, sheet, ribbon, filament, etc. The stabilizer is chosen from o-hydroxy benxophenones, benzotriazoles, or their mixts. Pref. the granules are heated in the stage(a) to a temp. or which the surface becomes tacky.
