摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the combustion under cold conditions by controlling a control valve that adjustably controls the suction passage area near to the combustion chamber to reduce the movement of the intake charge inside the combustion chamber only under acceleration modes when the engine temperature is in a certain low temperature range. CONSTITUTION:When the engine is under low speed, low load operating conditions under a cold condition where a thermo-sensor valve 35 is closed, the second diaphragm 17B of a diaphragm device 15 is drawn by a strong intake pressure to the maximum lift position that is regulated by a stopper 20B. Since an engine speed switch 39 is open and a switch valve 33 is at a position as shown in the diagram, the first diaphragm 17A is also drawn to the maximum lift position regulated by a stopper 20A. Therefore, a control valve 8 is fully closed, and a strong flow of intake charge is generated by a high speed suction flow that is introduced through a cutout 12 in the control valve. When an acceleration mode is assumed under such a condition, the control valve 8 is gradually closed by the action of the diaphragms 17B, 17A due to the reduction of the intake pressure, resulting in the reduction of the flow movement of the intake charge.
