[Also in Division H2] In a bonding arrangement for a wooden post 62 and cross-arms 64, 66, carrying insulators 68, 70 which support electrical transmission lines (not shown), conductive metal plates such as 84, 88, 90 are shunted across regions of relatively high resistance on the post and cross-arms, being attached thereto by integral nail-like teeth, in order to reduce the risk of fire and burn damage by leakage currents in such regions. Each plate 84, &c., Fig. 8, is of the kind described in Specification 1,072,472 (Division F2), being made of mild steel, galvanized or uncoated, and having teeth 104 struck to protrude perpendicularly from the plate, the ends of the teeth in alternate rows 100, 102 being diagonally cut in opposite directions. The cross-arms 64, 66 are held on post 62 by a conductive bolt 16 which passes through vertical plates 84, and by braces such as 72, 74, 76. An angle brace 96 between the cross arms is preferably in electrical contact with plates 88, 90, the bonding between which is further improved by braided copper conductors 92, 94 which are clamped between the cross arms and the plates. In a modification (Figs. 10, 11, not shown) in which the pole and cross arms are provided with conventional bonding bands connected together and to the through bolt by jumper wires, two toothed plates are secured over each band on the post and four plates are equidistantly spaced around and secured over the bands on the cross arms.
