PURPOSE:To provide a printing head reduced in power consumption, noise and heat generation, by performing printing in such a state that a wire is projected onto printing paper by raising the temp. of a driver to a transformation point or more and restoring the wire by lowering the temp. of the driver to the almost transformation point or less by a heat sink. CONSTITUTION:When pulse voltage Vp is applied between pulse applying terminals 21, 22 of a driver 15, a pulse current flows between said terminals 21, 22 to generate Joule heat by the conductor resistance at that parts and the temp. of the driver 15 becomes high. Displacement, wherein an initial deformation amount deltao was magnified, is transmitted to a wire 9 and the leading end of the wire 9 projects in a projected amount delta larger than the initial deformation amount deltao of the driver 15 to print a dot on recording paper. When the applied driving pulse Vp is distincted, the quantity of heat generated in the driver 15 is transmitted to a heat sink 16 to make the temp. of the driver 15 lower than a transformation point TD and the driver 15 is stretched to reach a second stable state. Therefore, a bent part D is displaced to the heat sink side by the almost projected amount delta and the wire 9 is restored to the initial state to complete dot printing operation. |
