PURPOSE:To increase retrieving effect of drain by a method wherein a pipeline, connecting the intermediate cooler and a rear compression stage, is provided with an annular drain catcher, equipped with a circumferential groove and a baffleplate, to retrieve drain from the outlet port side of the intermediate cooler. CONSTITUTION:The annular drain catcher 6, having circumferential groove 6a, is equipped in the rear compression stage 3, having a vane wheel 4 and a casing 5, while the annular baffle plate 7 is attached to the inside of the drain catcher. A drain extractor 9 is attached to the lower part of the circumferential groove 6a. Accordingly, drain, generated in the intermediate cooler, is collected into the circumferential groove by the baffle plate of the drain catcher and is discharged by the drain extractor whereby the retrieving effect of drain may be increased.
