PURPOSE:To produce L-lysine, in high accumulation, by culturing a mutant belonging to Brevibacterium genus, etc., resistant to alpha-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) amino-epsilon-caprolactam, etc., and capable of producing and accumulating L-lysine. CONSTITUTION:A mutant belonging to Brevibacterium genus of Corynebacterium genus, resistant resistant to at lest one of the compounds of alpha-(3-chloro-2- hydroxypropyl)amino-epsilon-caprolactam, alpha-bis(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)amino-epsilon-ca prolactam, etc., and capable of producing and accumulating L-lysine [e.g. Brevibacterium lactofermentam (FERM P-7688)] is cultured, and the L-lysine accumulated in the medium is separated therefrom.
