AZIMUTH DEVIATION CONFIRMING METHOD

PURPOSE:To confirm an azimuth with high precision by detecting the azimuth position in accordance with the azimuth position of a master tape and that of a copy tape copied from the master tape by transfer. CONSTITUTION:An azimuth deviation or a correct azimuth position is confirmed in accordance with an azimuth position theta1 of the master tape and an azimuth position theta2 of a copy tape 2 copied from the master tape by transfer to confirm the azimuth with a high precision in a high output level by a high frequency. That is, the correct azimuth position is given by theta0=(theta1+theta2)/2. It is detected that the azimuth of the master tape is deviated right by theta1-theta0.
