PURPOSE:To easily form a wheel and to improve the strength, hardness, and safety of the wheel, according to a method wherein a rim, which is made of the lamination of a continuous fiber FRP and a short fiber FRP and a hub made of the short fiber FRP and a flange are integrally formed in the fiber strengthened plastic (FRP) wheel of an automobile or the like. CONSTITUTION:An FRP layer 1a is made of an epoxy resin strengthened by means of a continuous fiber or textile for a reinforcement such as a carbon fiber or its textile extending in a circumference direction, an FRP layer 1b being made of a short fiber for a reinforcement strengthened by means of cut multi filaments each of which is about 10-50mm length. The layers 1a and 1b are laminated to form a rim 1. In this case, the thickness of the rim 1a is about 1/10-2/3 as large as the thickness of the whole rim 1. A hub 2 and a flange 3 are constituted by the same short fiber FRP of the rim 1b, the rim 1, the hub 2, and the flange 3 being integrated. According to the above constitution, strength, hardness, and safety are improved, and a wheel can be easily formed. |
