PURPOSE:To shorten the communications time by storing the performance of data-transmitted facsimile equipment, reading the performance of data- transmitted equipment whose memory is accessed when a transmitted destination is inputted by the abbreviated number with the aid of an automatic dial function and communicating data according to the procedure between terminals of its own make when transmitted destinations use the equipment of its own make. CONSTITUTION:A user stores telephone numbers of main transmission parties' facsimile equipments in a backup memory 3 through a panel 4 with the use of a keyboard or marksheet and the like. The performance discriminating part 12 of a control part 2 decodes a performance part read out of the backup memory 3, recognizes that in addition to a G3 function the performance of the transmission party's facsimile equipment having the abbreviated number 04 can be transmitted and received by its own high speed sequence, and transmits the effect to its own high speed control part 13. When the called station identifying signal CED is detected by a tone detecting part 8, the control part 2 instructs a tone generating part 7 to transmit a tone, because the control part 8 recognizes that the opposite party has its own make high speed sequence, and the 1st tone signal is transmitted.
