NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula (l, m and n are 0 or positive integer; 8<=l+m+n<=25). EXAMPLE:13-Phenyl-10-12-tridecadiyonic acid. USE:It produces a monomolecular film or accumulated film easily, and is polymerized with ultraviolet ray, gamma-ray, heat, etc. in solid phase. It is used as an electronic material such as photo-conductive material, resist material, etc., or optical functional element such as photo-responsive material, non-linear optical material, etc. PREPARATION:The compound of formula can be prepared by dissolving one of the acetylene compound in a solvent, preparing a copper acetilide solution using cuprous chloride as a catalyst, and adding a solution of a brominated acetylene compound wherein the terminal CH is converted to CBr dropwise to the above solution to effect the reaction of the components.
