PURPOSE:In producing the titled substance by hydrogenating furfural in a liquid phase in the presence of a Co group catalyst and/or a Ni group catalyst and ammonia, a small amount of (tetrahydro) furfurylamine is used as a solvent. CONSTITUTION:In hydrogenating catalytically furfural and ammonia in the presence of a Co group catalyst and a Ni group catalyst, furfurylamine and/or tetrahydrofurfurylamine is used as a solvent, and the reaction is carried out at 20-250 deg.C at normal pressure-20kg/cm<2> hydrogen pressure, to give the titled substance. EFFECT:The aimed substance is obtained in high yield and, since a general purpose solvent is not used, its separation operation is not required.
