PURPOSE:An organic binder to be carbonized by roasting and graphite are kneaded, as a shear force is applied, then the mixture is formed into a sheet, the sheets are laminated and roasted to give the formed product which is suitable for use in air battery, because it has good functions of activated carbon and high strength. CONSTITUTION:An organic binder to be carbonized by roasting such as acrylic resin, polyvinyl chloride resin and graphite such as leaflet graphite are used as major materials to effect kneading, as a shear force is applied by means of, e.g., 3 mixing rollers to effect crystal exfoliation and crushing of graphite and increase the adhesion between the graphite and the binder. Then, the kneaded product is formed into sheets by means of, e.g., a roll press, the sheets are laminated and roasted usually at 600-900 deg.C to give the objective activated carbon formed product. |
