The feather comprises a shaft 1 and projecting vane parts 2, 3 made in one piece by thermoforming, for example hot pressing, of a blank of plastic material, for example a thermoplastic, for instance polyurethane, with fibre reinforcement of the shaft 1, for example carbon fibre in a composite material, the vane parts 2, 3 being formed in one piece with the rest of the shaft cross section by hot pressing to obtain a single thickness of less than 0.2 mm and properties corresponding essentially to those of a natural feather. <IMAGE>
