PURPOSE:To obtain a current being proportional to an exygen concentration even in a high concentration oxygen atmosphere by constiuting a titled sensor so that a specified relation is kept between a gas passing sectional area of a gas diffusion layer and its thickness, and an area of a cathode and a solid electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A solid electrolyte is constituted of a cylindrical cup-shaped stabilized zicronia tube 1, and to its inner surface and outer surface, a cathode 4a and an anode 4b of a thin film porosity are formed extending over the whole surface by baking of a platinum paste, and a platinum wire 4 is connected. To an open tube part of the zicronia tube 1, a ceramic tube 3 is joined coaxially through a disk-shaped ceramic plate 2 (gas diffusion layer) on which a thin hole 21 is pierced in the center, and a leading-in area of a gas to be measured is set. In this state, by setting so that a relation of a gas passing sectional area S1 of the gas diffusion layer, its thickness l1, an area S2 of the cathode, and a thickness l2 of a solid electrolytic layer becomes S2/l2>2,000 X S1/l1, a current output being proportional to an oxygen concentration is obtained even in a high concentration oxygen. |
