The invention relates to a solar water heater for heating and storing by direct passage of the water. The water heater comprises a tank 13 mounted inside an enclosure 12 made of glass in which a high vacuum has been produced. Pipes forming elastic water ducts 30, 31 provide sealed water inlet and outlet passing through the outside glass enclosure. Housings 26 in combination with spacers immobilise the tank 13 in the enclosure 12. The invention applies in particular to the production of domestic hot water using solar energy. <IMAGE>
