PURPOSE:To heat uniformly materials to be heated to a prescribed temp. in a short period with good thermal efficiency by using two kinds of materials consisting of a heat transmittable material and heat insulating material to constitute a boundary member which partitions a combustion chamber and heating chamber in a hot air circulation type heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:The furnace is provided with a heat source 1 and is partitioned to the combustion chamber 8 and the heating chamber 9 by the partition plate 3. The plural materials 4 to be heated on a conveyor 5 are moved and heated while the high-temp. atmosphere in the furnace is circulated by a fan 2 through the vent holes 6, 6 at both ends of the partition plate. The first half 3' of the plate 3 from a port 7 for carrying in of the materials 4 toward a port 10 for ejecting said materials is made of an iron plate or quartz glass which allows the transmission of radiant heat but does not allow the transmission of the hot air of the atmosphere. The second half 3'' is constituted of a heat insulating material such as ceramics or refractory brick which does not allow the transmission of the radiant heat. The materials 4 are heated quickly to the target temp. by both the hot air and radiant heat in the part of the plate 3'. The direct influence of the radiant heat is removed and the materials 4 are stably and uniformly heated to the prescribe temp. in the part 3''.
