PURPOSE:To inject appropriately chlorine by calculating a predictor of the residual chlorine concn. which is corrected with respect to the retention time between the chlorine injection point and the residual chlorine concn. measuring point in correspondence with the injection of chlorine and displaying the calculated value as a guidance. CONSTITUTION:An appropriate value of the amt. of chlorine to be previously injected in a water purifying plant is calculated in correspondence with the residual chlorine concn., and the calculated value is displayed as a guidance for operators by a chlorine injection guidance device 7 in the water purifying plant. The residual chlorine concn. is recorded as time series data by a datum logger 9, and the retention time between the chlorine injection point and the residual chlorine concn. measuring point is calculated by the first arithmetic unit 8 from the flow rate of treated water. Besides, a predictor of the residual chlorine concn. at a time after the retention time is calculated by the second arithmetic unit 10 from the time series data of the residual chlorine concns. and the retention time, and an appropriate amt. of chlorine to be infected is calculated by the third arithmetic unit 12 so that the predictor of the residual chlorine concn. may be adjusted to the desired concn. of the residual chlorine. The appropriate amt. of chlorine to be injected is displated by an indicator 13.
