PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a squeaky sound by causing a flat spring holding member to hold one end of a flat spring in terms of cantilever and installing a magnetic head retaining member for supporting a magnetic head on the other end. CONSTITUTION:When the magnetic head 2 is positioned to execute recording and reproducing with respect to a magnetic diskette 1, the magnetic head 2 absorbs elastically the deflection and wave arising on the magnetic diskette 1 by an upper side flat spring 4 and a lower side flat spring 4 even if said defection and wave occur. Owing to the double flat spring with said springs 4 and 5, the rigidity is improved to prevent the squeaky sound. Moreover the titled device is supported by the cantilever type with the aid of the flat spring holding member 6, and therefore the device can move well by following the deflection and wave of the magnetic diskette 1 in spite of the high rigidity.
