PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a canister, by a method wherein a charge passage and a purge passage are open in the one chamber of chambers facing on both sides of a chamber having the interior filled with an adsorbing material, and the whole of the adsorbing material is effectively utilized. CONSTITUTION:Vaporized fuel fed through a charge passage 31, since there is not inner port in a chamber 44 as in a conventional type, is spread throughout the whole of the one chamber 44 through an opening 52 to effectively utilize the whole of active coal 47 with which a chamber 45 is filled. Since, when vaporized fuel so adsorbed is fed through a purge passage 51, there is also no inner port, the open air sucked through an opening 48 flows through the whole of an intermediate chamber 45 to a chamber 44 located at the upper part of a tank to effectively utilize the whole of the active coal 47. An electromagnetic valve 61, opening only either the opening 52 or 53, is located, and this prevents the vaporized fuel from flowing directly to a purge passage 51 through the charge passage 31. |
