PURPOSE:To surpress engine noise by installing a damper for reducing the lift speed of fly weights between a timer body and the fly weights. CONSTITUTION:A guide pin 24 is put through a pair of fly weights 22 installed in a timer body 14, and to the guide pin 24 a timer spring 23 designed to push the fly weights 22 in the radial direction is fixed. A damper 26 is installed between the timer body 14 and fly weights 22, with lift speed of the fly weights 22 reduced when the tip part 28 of the damper contacts with the inner surface of the timer body 14. Consequently, follow-up nature of spark advance at a high rotation speed range can be slowed, and engine noise can be reduced.
