PURPOSE:To adapt a liquid crystal optical device to minute or large-capacity display and to improve the reliability by forming an insulating color filter layer between a liquid crystal layer and an electrode to constitute an electrooptic device having the liquid crystal layer and forming the insulating color filter layer on a terminal part electrode as well. CONSTITUTION:A patterned ITO film layer 2 is formed on an electrode substrate 1 consisting of a glass, and an insulating color filter layer 5 having a color filter part 3 and a terminal insulating part 4 is formed on the layer 2. Materials which are obtained by adding a bichromated ammonium as a photosensitive material to a gelatin and has the photosensitivity are used as the materials of the insulating color filter layer, and a sufficient color purity as a color filter is attained if these materials are dyed with an acid dye and are formed with about 1mum thickness, and the part 4 protecting a terminal has a sufficient insulation property to the voltage and the current required for driving of the liquid crystal display device. |
