PURPOSE:To insure the recording level of having been recorded medium from being affected when recording and/or reproducing output levels and a magnetic head approach or contact slidably said medium with an external magnetic field impressed by enclosing the periphery of the main magnetism of a vertical magnetic head with a high permeability magnetic member and applying a magnetic shield. CONSTITUTION:The sub-magnetic pole excitation-type vertical magnetic head 50 is provided with a main magnetic pole block 15, a main magnetic pole shield block 16, a sub-magnetic pole shield block 19, a sub-magnetic pole 22, etc., to be constituted. The main magnetic pole shield block 16 is disposed which is made of the same material as that of a magnetic block 14 and has a box type with its lower part opened so that said block 16 can cover the entire main magnetic pole block 15. Between the main magnetic pole shield block 16 and the main magnetic pole block 15, epoxy resin, water glass, etc., are filled. When magnetic recording is executed with the user of such sub-magnetic pole excitation-type vertical magnetic head 50, a magnetic field caused by the sub-magnetic pole 22 and a main magnetic pole film 11 attains a figure with two narrow ellipses put side by side as shown by a code 25. |
