PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having a high sensitivity and a good preservation stability by incorporating at least one of three specific compds. or a nitrone compd. to a silver halide emulsion layer or its adjacency layer contg. a specific amount of AgI having a specific distribution. CONSTITUTION:One of the silver halide emulsion layers contg. 0.5-10mol% AgI comprises at least one of the compds. shown by formulas I, II, and III wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl, an alkoxy, COOH, an alkoxycarbonyl, a sulfo, a halogen atom or NO2 group, one or more of R1 and R2 groups are COOH, an alkoxycarbonyl or a sulfo group. Another one of the prescribed layers and its adjacent layer comprises >=20mol% AgI. The titled material has the properties capable of rapidly treating at a high temp. and of a less tendency for generating a fog in addition to the prescribed properties. |
