Valve with roller arm operated plunger

The valve which may be incorporated in a machine slide operated by a member guided by the slide has a block secured to the top of the valve body, supporting an arm (34) with a roller (4) on its free end. The moving member (6) above has a curved projection (8) forming a cam surface as it travels horizontally, travelling against the roller and swinging the arm downwards about a pivot axis (24) through the block. The intermediate part of the arm pushes the valve plunger (5) down. The arm is secured and released from the block with a snap action. The pivot can be formed by integral pins projecting from the roller arm which are inserted in a keyhole shaped slot (28) across the block.
