PURPOSE:To produce a suede-like skin sheet, by heating, melting and integrating a polyvinyl chloride resin containing a foaming agent with a polyvinyl chloride resin free from foaming agent to obtain a skin sheet having a foamed layer, and dissolving the surface skin of the foamed layer with a solvent to form a porous surface. CONSTITUTION:The skin sheet material composed of a plastisol or powder of polyvinyl chloride resin admixed with a foaming agent is charged in a mold which can be heated or cooled with a jacket, and is heated to form the foamed layer 8 of the vinyl resin. A plastisol or powder of a polyvinyl chloride resin free from foaming agent is put into the mold and heated at 170-180 deg.C to form the skin sheet 11 composed of a foamed layer 8 having a thickness of about 1mm and a nonfoamed layer 9 of about 0.5mm thick wherein both layers are melted and integrated with each other. The foamed layer 8 has an extremely thin surface skin layer 10. the skin layer is treated with a solvent such as trichlorotrifluororethane, etc. for a short time to form an air-permeable porous surface layer 12 exclusively to the surface. A skin sheet having suede-like appearance and soft feeling can be produced by the formation of the porous layer. |
