PURPOSE:To realize automation of simple flushing of a reverse osmotic membrane and to enhance the simple flushing effect by repeating ON and OFF of a high pressure pump for forcing the feed liquid utilizing the fact that the reverse osmotic membrane has a function of the permeable membrane. CONSTITUTION:A switch SW is turned OFF while closing a fifth valve 17 after a normal run is completed. During this stage, the contaminant on the RO membrane 9 is caused to float by the backflow of permeated water C to the feed liquid side (a) by the effect of the osmotic pressure through the RO membrane 9. In the next stage, the switch SW is turned ON and the feed liquid is fed to an RO modulator 8 under high pressure to flow on the RO membrane 9, and floated contaminant is flowed out together with the feed liquid (a), thus the clogging of the RO membrane 9 is reduced. The simple flushing of the RO membrane 9 is performed by repeating the above-described procedures for the necessary time.
