Method for collecting and sorting valuable refuse

Collecting containers 1 and/or 14 with a number of chambers 6 or 10, each for one kind of valuable refuse, are distributed throughout the municipality and can be received and taken to a transfer station 22 by a suitable transport vehicle. There, they are placed on supports 23 and are emptied when the bottom flaps 7 and/or 20 have been opened. The contents fall into silos 24 which are situated therebelow and whose cross-sections correspond to that of the chambers of the collecting container situated above them. Transport belts 25 convey the valuable refuse into the pressing apparatus 26 where it is pressed through the channels 28 and the stripping cage 30 into the pressing channel 31 by the pronged rotor 27. In this process, the material is ripped apart, crushed, smashed and heavily compacted. It passes into the individual container 35 provided for this sort of refuse via the channel 32. <IMAGE>
