PURPOSE:To obtain a rear view sight which is optimum for the driving operation of a vehicle upon backward travel, by providing such an arrangement that the higher the speed of the vehicle, the farther the view sight of a rear view TV camera is directed to obtain a rear view sight suitable for the vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle speed sensor 3 detects the rotational speed of, for example, a tire wheel drive axle of a vehicle, and transmits a pulse signal indicating this rotational speed to a CPU4 which then computes a vehicle speed in accordance with this signal upon backward travel of the vehicle 1 and determines which one of low, middle and high speed ranges the vehicle speed belongs to. Further, is such a determination is made that the speed belongs to, for example, the middle speed range, the CPU4 computes an angle corresponding to the vehicle speed, and transmits a signal indicating this angle to a motor drive circuit 5. As a result, the motor drive circuit 5 calculates the deviation between the angle indicating signal and the output of a potentiometer 8, which indicates the present attitude angle of a TV camera 2, and delivers a drive signal to a motor to eliminate this deviation. |
