A lid for closing pots and other vessels has a pouring spout, a spring-loaded sliding lid for the pouring spout, gripping knobs or the like for locking the lid on the pot and a pivotable opening lever, supported in a recess of the lid, for the sliding lid. The bottom of the recess receives one limb of a pusher lever, the pusher lever is connected to a catch spring whose one end engages on the pusher lever while the other end engages on the sliding lid. The sliding lid is guided by slide rails which extend between guides, the guides serving for holding an axle which in turn exerts pressure on the catch spring.
