PURPOSE:To attain sense/control of a line adaptor without provision of any special interface by applying sense/control of a register of the line adaptor such as read/write of setting data during ineffective scanning without a bit processing request. CONSTITUTION:A register 16 holds an address of a line and is advanced sequentially, and the content of a line adaptor memory 11 is read by using an address of the register 16 to load the result to a register 19. The said address is outputted to a data control line 33, a corresponding line adaptor Lic4 is selected and a status signal such as line status or bit processing request is transmitted to a scanning section CS9. When a processing request is detected by the scanning section CS9, a bit transmitted next is given to the adaptor Lic4 or a reception bit is received. The scanning section CS9 applies sense/control of information of registers such as a mode resister 25 and an X register 26 when no processing request is detected.
