PURPOSE:To attain connection with a DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) not fully reporting an RS-232C by controlling a connection path between a telephone set and the DTE only with an ER (Equipment Ready) signal of the RS-232C interface. CONSTITUTION:A CI (incoming display signal) detection propriety selecting and setting means 11 at the DTE side selecting a data signal system, and a means 12 for establishing a communication link between the DTEs by input/ output of a command/response in the unit of prescribed codes between the telephone set and the DTE after the data signal system is selected by the setting means 11, are provided. Then a means 13 for switching a DTE-DTE communication into a talking by a prescribed command switching the DTE into the telephone set is provided.
