The existing adjustable feet on the market for ladders are in the main expensive to manufacture and awkward to actuate. Execution and operation are much simplified with the lock. The concealed arrangement offers protection against damage. As unlocking by chance or inadvertent contact is not possible, there is also corresponding accident prevention.
