The invention relates to a caged blind nut, having a quadrilateral nut, the plate opening which is used for the nut to be passed through likewise being quadrilateral. The quadrilateral nut is held between webs of the cage, which is additionally provided with sprung locking tabs which, after the quadrilateral nut has been passed through and the cage has been rotated through 45 DEG , are seated in a sprung manner in the free corners of the plate opening, so that the blind nut is secured against falling out. <IMAGE>
