PURPOSE:To discriminate more clearly complicated content by constituting the titled unit that the magnification and reduction modes of an inserted picture are selected freely in the slave pattern display mode. CONSTITUTION:In selecting the 'TV', 'still picture' and 'slave pattern 1/2 display' modes, preset data generators 15, 16 both output '0', the output of column and row address counters 6, 8 is incremented by one from 0 to attain the said display. In the slave pattern 1/1 display mode, the preset value of the generators 15, 16 is set to a column address corresponding to the left corner at a part desired for magnification and a row address of a part corresponding to the upper end and a mode selector 10 selects the 'slave pattern 1/1' mode, then an output of a controller 11 switches address selectors 7, 9. Then the access to the memory 2 is started from an address coincident with that of a preset data by the counters 6, 8, the data is read sequentially and displayed.
