PURPOSE:To improve preparation, calibration and editing functions of the document by installing copy mode and separate document copy mode selecting means and copying between other documents while the document is prepared, calibrated and edited. CONSTITUTION:When an operator copies part of other prepared document in the document during preparation, first, a keyboard 13 is operated and a copy mode is set. Thus, a CPU 10 reads a page of the document copied, designated by a keyboard 13 from an external memory 12,stores it to a main memory 11 and displays it to a CRT 14. Next, the operator selects a separate document copy mode, a separate document copy action is executed, part of the separate document prepared previously is used and a new document can be efficiently prepared, calibrated and edited. A prescribed whole page of the document copied can be copied to another page of the document copied. Thus, the preparation, calibration and editing functions of the document can be improved.
