PURPOSE:To enable the correction in the absorption of a sample without use of a costly silver filter, by making a filter paper adsorb an internal reference substance to measure the intensity of refracted X rays thereof before and after the absorption of a dust sample in the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:First, the weight of a filter paper is measured and then, the filer paper is made to adsorb fine dust of crystalline substance having a refracted X ray pattern that will not overlap the refracted X rays of components to be measured as internal standard substance. After the weight of the filter paper is measured, intensity values of refracted X rays are measured on the internal reference substance adsorbed thereby. Thereafter, the filter paper is made to adsorb dust in the atmosphere as sample and after the measuring of the weight of the filter paper, intensity values of refracted X rays and angles of refraction are measured separately on the internal reference substance adsorbed by the filter paper and components to be measured contained in the dust in the atmosphere. The measured values thus obtains are substituted in a specified correction formula to determine the intensity value of refracted X rays on the components being measured corrected. |
