<p>A tube 12 having a stopped end 13 has a plastics fabrication 21 to be disposed of inserted in it. The fabrication has hot water added to it and is then subjected to end loading by means of a piston 17 which is displaced by a push rod. The end load is maintained until the fabrication is sufficiently permanently deformed by the combined action off heat from the water and the end loading so as to enable it to be withdrawn from an aperture in the tube at or near the stopped end and disposed of. The piston 17 is perforated for passage of the hot water during pressing. <IMAGE></p> |
