PURPOSE:To enable positive identification by a simple construction, by binarizing a video signal from a camera reading out an image of a specimen work and removing an isolated point. CONSTITUTION:An action mode of a visual sensor controller 1 is divisible into teaching mode (TM) and on-line mode (OM). And, in the TM, the image of the specimen work 3 is read out periodically by a camera 4 and after conversion into a video signal, it is transmitted to an image input circuit 9. And, with binarization of the video signal, removal of an isolated point is performed for transmitting to an image memorizing circuit 11. Next, the circuit 9, under command of the central processing apparatus 7, binarizes the video signal of the work 3 by the set binarizing level and removes the isolated point and transmits it to an image processing circuit 10 for generation of run-length. In OM, the apparatus 1 receives a measuring command from the upper-class controller 2 and the apparatus 7 sets the binarizing level from the teaching data by it and issues a command to the circuit 9 to read out an image of the work 3 from the camera 4. And, the run-length is generated by the circuit 10. |
