A hatch cover 3 covers an opening in a vehicle roof and the inner lining 4 of the hatch cover is apertured at 5 to form handholds 7, or to obtain access to handles 24, for raising and lowering the cover. A housing 21 secured to the cover at each side accommodates at each end an outwardly urged telelcopic member connected by a link to a pivot pin on the hatch coaming this mechanism being invisible in the closed position of the cover. |
