<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Al powder useful as a pigment, which has golder tone and excellent dispersibility and resistance to corrosion and discoloration, by immersing Al powder in a weakly acidic soln., drying it and treating the surface thereof with a fatty acid (derivative). CONSTITUTION:Al powder is immersed in a weakly acidic soln. which has a pH of 1.0-2.5, is warmed to room. temp. to 100 deg.C and composed of 0.1-1.0% (by weight based on the entire quantity of the weakly acidic soln.; the same applies herein below) CrO3, 0.1-1.0% dichromate such as K2Cr2O7, 0.01-0.3% fluoride such as NaF and 0.05-1.0% nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyethylene glycol type) and/or ampholytic surfactant (e.g. betaine type), and then dried. 0.1-3.0pts.wt. 14-22C fatty acid (or its metal salt, ester or amide) such as stearic acid (amide) is added to 100pts.wt. resulting colored Al powder to treat the surface thereof, and the powder is crushed.</p> |
