PURPOSE:To obtain a packing material having excellent sealing properties and waterproofness, by blending a methylphenylsilicone oil with an ethylene/ propylene copolymer rubber. CONSTITUTION:A methylphenylsilicone oil is blended with an ethylene/propylene copolymer rubber. As the ethylene/propylene copolymer, an ethylene/propylene/ diene terpolymer rubber (EPDM) contg. crosslinking double bonds is generally used. As the methylphenyl-silicone oil, the oil which is used as heat transfer oil which must be heat-resistant, is commercially available as specially oil and has a viscosity of 100-10,000cSt (25 deg.C) is used. The methylphenylsilicone oil is used in a quantity of at least 5pts.wt., pref. 10-30pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. EPDM, to allow the oil to ooze out toward the surface. |
