PURPOSE:To easily and quickly perform driving operations of sheet piles by preventing the lateral vibration of flexible, expandible cut-off sheet piles by a method in which steel connecting plates are set in the longitudinal direction of the sheet piles and temporarily fixed, while the sheet piles are driven into the ground, the temporarily fixed portions are broken, and the connecting plates are removed out in order. CONSTITUTION:A flexible, expandible cut-off sheet pile 3 consists of vertically extending paired split type steel sheet piles 1 and a rubber banded cut-off plate 2 to be connected. Steel connecting plates 16 are set in the longitudinal direction of the sheet pile 3 and its one side is temporarily fixed to the sheet pile 1. The sheet pile 3 is then driven into the ground 4, the temporarily fixed portion is broken by the resistance of the ground 4, and the connecting plates 16 are removed out in order. Only the sheet pile 3 staying on the ground's surface is driven into the ground 4. The driving efficiency of the sheet piles 3 can thus be raised, and the connecting plates can be automatically removed out when collided with the ground's surface. |
