PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of work, regardless of the size of tires, by centering each tire on a conveyer, lifting the centered tire, and supporting the lifted tire with support members swingable along the tread and lower corners of the tire. CONSTITUTION:A tire W on a conveyer 1 is centered by a centering unit 3. The tire W on a plate 9 is lifted by an elevator 4. At that time, tire support arms 5 are kept open by cylinders 14. After the tire W is elevated to an ascent limit, air is discharged from the cylinders 14 so that the arms swing and close due to their own weight. As a result, support members 16 are placed in contact with the tread W2 of the tire. The elevator 4 is then moved down so that the lower corners W1 of the tire are supported by support members 15. After that, a following tire Wa is lifted into contact with the preceding tire W so that both the tires are lifted together and the corners of the tire Wa are supported by the support members 15. Efficient work is thus enabled. |
