PURPOSE:To generate a Bloch line at a high speed with a simple constitution by impressing a local magnetic field at a magnetic domain stretched by a temperature gradient and writing the Bloch line. CONSTITUTION:The circumference of a beam spot 11 is heated by the irradiation of the laser light, and the temperature gradient is generated. Then, a stripe magnetic domain 3 formed at a magnetic garnet layer 6 by a vertical magnetic field is stretched to a high temperature side, and trapped to a potential well by an ion implantation layer 12. In such a condition, when a pulse electric current in the prescribed direction is impressed to a conductor line 2 and the local magnetic field is impressed, the Bloch line is written to the magnetic wall 9 of the magnetic domain 3. Thus, the devices to generate, transfer and annihilate the bubble are not necessary, with a simple constitution, the Bloch line can be generated at the high speed.
