PURPOSE:To reliably grasp the processing capability of the additional equipment by sending the data concerning the sheet processing capability of its own sheet processing unit to the control means of the preceding sheet processing unit. CONSTITUTION:The control circuit of a copying machine performs the display and control of various information and controls a sorter 1 via serial communications. The control circuit of a sorter performs the data transmission/ reception with the copying machine and a sorter via serial communications, feeds various information to a display unit, and performs the operation sequence control of the sorter 1. The control circuit of the sorter 2 performs the data transmission/reception with the sorter 1 via serial communications, feeds various information to the display unit, and performs the operation sequence control of the sorter 2. When a communication abnormality occurs between the sorter 1 and the sorter 2, the sorter 1 sends the data concerning its own sheet processing capability to the copying machine. |
