<p>PURPOSE:To simplify an image forming device and enhance its safety, by provid ing an automatic paper feeder with a driving force transmission mechanism having a driven gear, which is disengaged from a driving gear in the body of the image forming device by opening the upper unit of the body. CONSTITUTION:An automatic paper feeder 11 is provided with a driving force transmission mechanism 70 having a driven gear 68, which is engaged with a driving gear 69 provided in the body 1 of an image forming device (copying machine). A driving force is imparted from the body 1 of the image forming device to the automatic paper feeder 11 through the driving force transmission mechanism 70 so that a plurality of sheets of paper set on a paper feed rest are sent one by one to a paper feed section by the feeder. In the body 1 of the imagr forming device, an image is made on each sheet of paper fed from the paper feed section. The driven gear 68 and the driving gear 69 can be dis engaged from each other by opening the upper unit 51 of the body 1 after all images are made, to manually handle the automatic paper feeder 11 to dispose of paper jamming or perform checking and maintenance.</p> |
