PURPOSE:To make possible the overlap recording of both of image information and digital information on one surface of a base body by developing and fixing a magnetic latent image in a magnetic recording layer then erasing the magnetic latent image and recording freshly the necessary digital information on said magnetic recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The fabric for the recording medium is produced by forming the magnetic recording layer 3 consisting of acicular gamma-Fe2O3 magnetic material and vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer resin one surface of the polyethylene terephthalate base body 4 then forming a printing layer 2 consisting of a white paint dispersed uniformly with pulverous particle silica, vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer resin, lubricating agent and additives, etc. on said layer. The image information on the characters necessary for printing is digitized and the image information is written on the layer 3 by a magnetic head 15. The magnetic latent image 16 is developed by a magnetic toner 17. The developed magnetic toner 17 is fixed to the white printing layer 2 and the image 16 is erased. The digital information 23 necessary for the process is freshly written on the layer 3 by a writing head 22, by which the information recording medium 1 is completed.
